What is the difference between natural top and solid top on an acoustic guitar?
I've been looking for an acoustic guitar and don't exactly know what's good and what's bad. I mean I don't want to buy a crappy one from eBay or something because I've had bad experiences with that already but I was looking at Silvertone SD Series Acoustic Guitar Pack. I don't know if its good or not!! If it isn't please suggest something for me to buy. Thanks!
Byrde is absolutely correct.
Just wanted to add...buy a solid top, if you can afford it. Decent ones start around the $250-300 range. Guitar Player magazine likes the Fender acoustics. Make sure it says "solid top," in the advertising.
A solid top improves with age...tone, warmth, depth. Solid tops, properly cared for, can literally be handed down thru generations.
