im tryin to figure out a way to make my guitar amp sound better, like famous bands like led zeppelin?
i need help making my amplifier sound better, it is an orange tiny terror amp, and im tryin to make it sound like jimmy page?
Well a lot of "that sound" is dependant on your guitar (should be a Les Paul...SG or other humbucker set-up). I don't know what kind of speaks you are running with that tiny terror, but I suggest celestion "greenback" 12's. And I guess what you're probably looking for is a boosting overdrive?! I recommend you check out the Electro-Harmonix English Muff'n or Big Muff pedals. The Ibanez TS-808 or TS-9 "Tube Screamer" might be a good fit with that amp...it provides more of a bluesy drive. Again, I don't think you want "distortion" but a nice overdrive. As far as TONE goes, it seems like mids and hi-mids on the EQ is going to provide you that more mellow tone...his wasn't too harsh (hi-freq's). He did use a lot of 12-string as well...so maybe that's what you're talking about. But for that fat umph...it's that humbuckers/brit amp...I know the Orange is british...and Page did play them...roll up that gain and turn that tone knob to a little over half, with a humbucker set up and see if that's it. You might want a good reverb...Holy Grail perhaps. Hope this helps.
