Fret Markers
Weird Buzzing Sound on Low E String?
Recently re strung the guitar, and the low E String is making a very weird buzzing sound. The strings are the same guage as before, and I'm certain I restrung it all correctly... is the string too close to the fret markers? The other strings are pretty much fine. How can I fix this?
Couple of extra details:
Took all strings off at once.
I only REALLY hear it when I play it open, or a couple of frets up.
It IS an electric guitar.

Sounds like it may be grazing a fret. Does it buzz when you play it open or only from a certain fret upwards? A quick fix is to raise the saddle the string rests on, on the guitar's bridge. Nothing dramatic, just a tiny tweak (counterclockwise). A more thorough option is to have a qualified luthier at the music store do a 'set up' where he adjusts the string height and intonation. This is a very inexpensive catch all and guarantees optimum performance from your instrument.
