What colors do Les Paul epiphones come in?

This may sound like a dumb question, but i bought a 1997 les paul epiphone in excellent condition last summer from a pawn shop in shreveport, La. I have been poking around the internet and can't seem to find the color of my guitar on any websites! Of course its not THAT big of a deal but i was just curious as to what color i should say when i try to describe what i bought. Maybe a trans-green, black (black on the edges and green in the middle). Thanks a lot guys for any feedback!

Finishes range from bold Iron Cross and Red Oval graphics to understated Worn Brown, Alpine White and Plain Black. Black hardware and a plain fingerboard set off the finish colors.

You can either play the note with the volume control all the way down and use your foot to approximate the sound you want, or you can purchase an E-bow, which is an electronic device that can approximate a bow sound by vibrating the strings according to how close you place the device to the strings. A third, much more expensive method, is to put a dedicated pickup on the guitar, run it through a synthesizer (one that is specifically made for guitars) and use the synthesizer sound combined with your playing technique.

Types Of Guitar: Electric, Acoustic And Classical

A guitar, which is a hollow-bodied stringed instrument with a neck, produces sound when the strings' vibrations resonate through its body.

There are three basic types of guitar: the electric guitar, the acoustic guitar, and the classical guitar.

The electric guitar converts the sound of the vibrating strings into electronic current. These electronic signals are then altered and produce the desired pitch and vibration before they are fed to amplifiers. Because an electric guitar uses these "pickups," the body does not need to be resonant as it does with the other types of guitar. An electric guitar is used for all different kinds of music, such as country, pop, jazz, rock and roll, and heavy metal.

The acoustic guitar is shaped much like the classical guitar (described below) in terms of its appearance and shape. This type of guitar does not use amplifiers for its sound traditionally, although they can be added. An acoustic guitar uses steel strings for a louder and brighter sound than the nylon strings of the classical guitar. The acoustic guitar also uses heavier woods than does the classical guitar, including maple, mahogany, and spruce. This is because the steel strings on the acoustic guitar produce more tension than the nylon strings of the classical guitar do. This type of guitar is usually used in country, folk and blues music. It can also be used in different types of rock music. Oftentimes, acoustic guitars can also have built-in electronics so that their sound can be amplified louder than they would have been traditionally.

Finally, the classical guitar is also known as the "Spanish guitar." It's the most common of the three types of guitar. Its body is hollow, as with the acoustic guitar. The hole in the center acts to resonate the sound produced by the strings when they are plucked and strummed. It uses six strings, which are usually made of nylon. They are less taut than are the steel strings of the acoustic guitar. Usually, this type of guitar is played without amplifiers. The sound can be "amplified" simply, however, by just placing the guitar in front of a microphone. The classical guitar is usually used in Latin, flamenco and classical music.

All three types of guitars (classical, acoustic and electric) can be used by one person alone or by playing with other guitar players. However, electric guitars are much louder than classical or acoustic guitars, and are generally not mixed with acoustic or classical guitars. However, it's often true that rock bands, for example, play electric guitars with accompaniment such as drums, trumpets or other louder instrumentation that can't be easily overpowered by the electric guitar's volume.

I like evermore and i currently own an ashton 3/4 size classical guitar and cheap little belle electric guitar.

I would take my $200.00 and go to a local "independently owned" guitar shop. "DONT GO TO A NATIONAL CHAIN" Find the owner...be up front and honest with them and see what they have in a GOOD used guitar. I have found this to be the best way to get a good deal on something that might last for a long time

Buying Fender Acoustic Guitars Safely Online

When you're seeking Fender acoustic guitars to buy online, it's important that you don't get ripped off. What this means for you is, on the one hand you do want to find the best deal and the Internet is a great way of doing that; but on the other hand, you might end up buying a Fender acoustic that you never tried out, plus you need to remember that when it comes to musical instruments you get what you pay for. You may get a lot more than you pay for if you shop at an online auction site such as eBay, and they provide ways to minimize the risk of being ripped off. If you choose eBay, always check the seller's rating. A seller with a high seller rating is just as safe as shopping at a retailer with a high reputation.

Needless to say, one pretty safe way of shopping online for Fender acoustic guitars is to go to the Fender website. If you do this, you can search for Fender-approved dealers in your local area that you can visit either online or in person. You really don't have to worry much about getting ripped off by these guys. However, keep in mind the rule of thumb that under normal circumstances you don't want to buy an acoustic guitar for less than $400. You can find plenty of them that are less than that, but they are not of high quality construction or design--not even if they do say "Fender". You will be compromising sound and physical playing quality by going cheap. However, there are ways of going cheap on price without going cheap on quality.

Now, you can find good Fender acoustic guitars online for under $400, but you have to take some special steps. One of these would be to shop at eBay or another online auction house. Allthough you do have to act with caution when shopping online, eBay remains one of the safest online auction market places on the internet. Use common sense, and you won't have too much to worry about. Another method is to do an Internet lookup for individuals selling a Fender acoustic guitar. You can check online classified ads, Craig's List, and so forth. But once again, you run the risk of paying more for something than you should while trying to save money--and that means you would probably end up getting ripped off, either by accident by some ignorant person or on purpose by some low-life person. So eBay is probably a better idea, as eBay has a seller rating system so you can know that you are shopping from a seller with a high approval rating.

If you are looking for an unused guitar, you may want to check out some other places as well; if nothing else just to compare prices. Musician's Friend is a good site for this. They are like a huge musical instrument and equipment warehouse, and because they have so much volume they can sell most of their merchandise for less than the manufacturer's suggested retail price. There are also plenty of hands-on reviews of instruments and equipment at their website. They will ship what you buy right to your door. And sometimes, they give you free shipping. Check it out as they are known for low prices on new guitars. If you find a cheaper one of a similar model on eBay, you know that you are getting a good price. Give it some time, and check eBay again. You may find a better price in a week or a month. Otherwise, you can be confident that you are getting a good price on Musician's Friend.

Take your time, shop around, compare prices. It is the only way you can know that you got a good price on your Fender Acoustic Guitar.
