How do I get sticker residue off of my guitar without damaging the finish?
I had a Metallica sticker, but removed it when I realized the band blows...
I dont know where else to post this question
Soak the residue in lemon oil or olive oil; and then, you should be able to remove it easily without harming the finish on your guitar. I wouldn't try fingernail polish remover since it can harm varnishes and laquers. Also, you might try warming the residue with a blow-dryer for a few minutes, especially while the oil is on it, this might help to loosen any hardened glue. Good luck.
Edit: If the above action doesn't work, you can buy a solution called De-Solv-It. It has worked great for me on removing most leftover residues. Also, De-Solv-It is 100% organic and has no harsh chemicals. The only down side to it is removing the smell that it leaves on the object since it does have a fairly strong citrus odor. However, if you like oranges... then you will probably like the odor. Also, De-Solv-It is flamable so you probably shouldn't use a blow-dryer with it.
