Can a Paul Reed Smith guitar work for jazz and not just a rock guitar?
i'm getting into jazz but i play a lot of metal too. and when i go to jazz concerts and play will the judges mark me down for having a PRS SE Custom guitar? or will it be frowned upon by pro jazz players? or will i have to get a hollow body or something?
I play jazz on my old 1969 Gibson LP and it sounds like a semi-acoustic electric guitar. I keep telling my students that "Your instrument will only sound as good as YOU can play it".
PRS is a good guitar with a good nice tone to it if you use the neck pickup with a little treble cutoff. Base yourself on Les Paul himself who played the solid body and HE was a jazz guitar player.
