Can you do guitar spins on a planet lock strap?
I had this whole setup where i could do anything and know that my guitar was safe. I was spinning like crazy and one of the strap buttons fell out. the guitar is fine but now im looking into a strap lock system. Planet waves was requested by a friend and i wanna know CAN I SPIN IT?! i love to spin and would be devastated if i couldn't do it anymore. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME?
Are you talking about where you throw your guitar over your shoulder, have it come around your back, and catch it? The band Cinderella used to do that in their early videos on MTV.
Personally, I use Dunlop strap locks on all of my guitars, and Schaller strap locks on my basses. Just personal preference for me.
If you're going to do tricks like that, then make sure that the screw that holds the strap lock button on the guitar is tight into the wood.
Now, the strap, strap locks, and pins are not really designed to have those kinds of forces applied to them, so no one is going to say "sure, these will work every time".
