Electric guitar piezo?

Ive just bought a John Petrucci musicman guitar. it does not have the piezo because i didnt have the cash add that to my guitar
i was wondering if there is a piezo system that i can just stick onto the bridge to get a similar sound, Most i see say they are for acoustic guitars! there has to be a way around this problem
anyone know anything? thanks

They are usually factory installed inside the guitar along with a preamp. You might be able to find a shop that can install one for you. I highly recommend the preamp - otherwise its a pain to adjust volume and EQ at the amp, especially if you are getting acoustic feedback.
