Guitar Ohsc

Should I paint this guitar?
I have Epiphone Les Paul standard Custom shop Ltd. The silver sparkle color kills me. The tint is a green pickle juice color in natural light. I had emailed Gibson/Epiphone and asked what the run numbers were and what's so custom about this guitar. No run numbers and the color is custom shop.
It's a 2008 and I doubt this guitar is as limited as it sounds. Should I repaint anyway? Here's a guitar similar to mine on ebay. Notice the green tint. http://cgi.ebay.com/Epiphone-Les-Paul-Standard-Sparkle-Electric-Guitar-OHSC_W0QQitemZ300369753392QQcmdZViewItemQQssPageNameZRSS:B:SRCH:US:105
I wouldn't paint it. On an electric, the extra layer of paint won't affect your sound....but unless you're a pro, the paint job will look like what it is....an amateur paint job. There's a lot more to repainting a guitar than just hitting it with a couple coats of spray paint. Once you put a home paint job on it, the resale value will go down the toilet. The cost of having it professionally painted will be more than you would lose by just trading the guitar for a color you like.
I think you should either learn to live with the color, or sell it and get something you like.
As a side note, I own a pedal steel guitar which I bought used. The color is sort of a blue-green sunburst. I've never liked it, but a lot of people comment on the cool color. Most likely, you will also get compliments on your "custom" colored LP.
