Epiphone Les Paul or Fender Stratocaster Standard HSS?
Yea, which one is better and why? Pros and cons of each?
I have both and they are both great for different reasons.
The Epiphone Les Paul (Gibsons also, since they're basically the same guitar) are great for recording, or practicing. They are tone monsters, great sound, etc... but they are heavy. That's why I like playing my stratocaster (I have an HSS Deluxe with noiseless pickups) when I'm out gigging live. Plus, when you're on stage your guitar is more likely to get messed up. You can't replace a neck on an Epiphone (actually you can, but it's glued in and it's not something you want to attempt yourself). But a stratocaster has a bolt on neck. It's pretty straight forward when you need to replace it. I also like where the volume knob is on the strat. When I'm playing live and go into a lead the volume is right there to crank up. The Les Paul config is geared more for studio recording in my opinion.
