Help With Effects Chain?
Help me get my order set
Gear:
Fender Stratocaster (America)
Ibanez TS9
Vox Wah Wah
Boss DD 20
Roctron Banshee Talkbox
MXR Phase 90
Crate 32 Tube Amp
I would appreciate if you could help me put them in order. Thank you.
The "normal" order is
Guitar -> buffer/compressor/tuner -> distortion -> modulation (chorus, etc) -> time-based (delay, reverb) -> eq/filters (eq, wah, etc). The wah may also go in front of distortion or before time-based, depending on the player's preference and the specific effect. All of it can be changed, really, but that's the most common, as it gives the most versatility and the most natural sound.
So....
Guitar ->Tubescreamer -> Phaser -> talkbox -> Delay -> amp
In this case the talkbox is a filter, and I would expect that it would be delayed, perhaps as a loop or fade-in sound. This of course could just as easily go after the delay, or before the ts9 if you wanted it to be a little more subtle/processed.
Good luck!
Saul
