Is there such thing as a battery powered electric outlet?
Is there such thing as a battery powered electric outlet? I have a lamp I need to plug in, but in the middle of the floor and don't want to run a cord... I thought maybe there was such a thing as a battery powered electric outlet and I could do it that way.... any ideas??
Yes, there are such things, called a power pack which is a multipurpose pack for jump starting cars or running electrical tools. They are a bit bulky though, probably 1 1/2 ft x 1 ft x 9 inches deep.
An small inverter can also convert battery power to electrical power. I you use fluorescent power saving globes it may work for you.
Another option is to run a thin twin light cord under the carpet, or a cord up through a hole the floor
